family support services
Family Support Services is a funding source that helps
families care for their loved ones at home. Money is
provided to County Boards by the Ohio Department of MRDD.
The support is intended to enhance the quality of life for
the entire family and includes:
Respite Care
Adaptive Equipment
Home modifications to accommodate the family member with a
disability
Special Diets
Other services/items needed to meet the family’s needs
To access FSS funds, the family must be caring for the person with
a developmental disability at home and the individual must
be eligible for services through the County Board (even if
he or she is not receiving services at the time of request).
For information on FSS, call 740-695-0460, ext. 111.
