RESIDENTIAL
The Belmont County Board of Developmental Disabilities is
committed to helping people live independent lives in
home-like community settings. We believe that people should
be able to choose where they want to live and we work with
them and their families and other organizations like Eastern
Ohio Housing Development Corporation, Sunrise Acres Ranch,
ResCare and Paramount Support Services to develop community
living options.
Across
Belmont County, people with developmental disabilities have
chosen to live with family, in their own homes, or in
Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded
(ICF/MR). Their choices are funded in a variety of ways
including Home and Community Based Waivers, Individual
Options and Residential Facilities waivers. Supported Living
is another support where individuals with disabilities are
provided services that enhance their quality of life.
Funding is provided through any public or private resources,
including money from the individual.
