SPECIAL OLYMPICS

            Opportunities for athletic competition are provided year-round in Belmont County through the Special Olympics’ program for people ages eight through adult years. Supported by the County Board, team competition in basketball, track and field, swimming and bowling is offered.

            The annual Belmont Eagles’ Invitational Track Meet is held each spring, supported in part by the Belmont County Council of the American Legion. Teams from around eastern Ohio compete on the track located at Belco Works near St. Clairsville.
